Bruschetta in Texas Toast Crostini

FEATURING BUN #1672

Forget waiting for dessert! Make room for our garlic whole grain Texas toast! It’s an authentic Italian garlic bread ready to go from the freezer to the oven to the table! Serve with anything Italian, or any meal you’d like.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 Roma tomatoes
  • 3 or 4 leaves fresh basil,
  • chiffonade sliced
  • 2 fresh garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 4 slices Bake Crafters’ Texas toast

PREPARATION

  • Slice and squeeze seeds out of the tomato, then dice into small cubes. Stack the fresh leaves of basil and roll. Slice into fine strips for chiffonade. Finely mince the garlic. Mix all these ingredients in a large bowl, add olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Fold and mix ingredients.

  • Toast the slices of bread in an oven or toaster. Slice into 4 equal parts and arrange on a platter. Spoon the tomato mixture and drizzle some balsamic vinegar across each bruschetta.

Chef Tips:

For a party, toast and slice the bread then place on a tray. Serve tomato bruschetta mixture in a bowl and let your guests make their own bruschettas.
